Lionstar padded into camp, head hanging low out of embarrassment. She couldn't believe she was about to do this. She was going to give up her life's dream of becoming her clan's leader. It was all she ever wanted, BTU now she felt it wasn't what she was meant to do. Not only was she so young, barely made a warrior 4 moons ago, but she wasn't used to the over bearings of being leader. That's why Fogdancer would be much more experienced for this job; Lionstar would just give it up to her. She looked back at the well-built deputy, who was walking behind her. This was so unlike Lionstar. Normally she'd be proud, head high, ordering others around, but today was a major change. at least she could go back to being a regular warrior. Lionstep. Her old name. It would take some time getting used to being called by it again.
Lionstar padded up to the cedar tree and cambered her way up to the lowest branch. So many leaders had sat here before, but Lionstar bet 3 whole ducks that none had ever sat here for the same reason as she was. She sighed and lifted her head high. Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Cedar branch for a Clan meeting.

Flutterpaw~ Flutterpaw padded out of the medicine cat den and into the clearing of Shadowclan camp. She found a place close to the tree and looked up expectantly at her leader. The she-cat gave her leader a quizzical look as if to ask what was wrong. She hoped her leader was alright. After all, Flutterpaw was the medicine cat apprentice.

Ivysplash trotted happily into camp. She was very proud of herself for catching the large bullfrog. THe kits would certainly have a fun time with it, though Sorrelfeather's kits would come long after this frog was eaten. Ivysplash sighed and noticed Lionstar. Seh looekd awfully down today, and she had just called a clan meeting. Uh oh, she thought. Soemthing must eb seriously wrong to get Lionsar this deppressed. Ivysplash pulled up next to Flutterpaw and sat down rigidly. Do you know what's wrong?

Flutterpaw~
"Not a clue. She's clearly upset by the looks of her.", Flutterpaw mewed, "What do you think is wrong?" Flutterpaw looked at Ivysplash intently. She snuck a glance at her stressed leader then looked back to Ivysplash.

Wildfire padded into the camp with a vole in her mouth and just in time to see a clan meeting start. She dropped the dead creature on the ple and padded over to the other cats and sat down and mewed, "Well if we knew what this meeting was about then we wouldnt be asking now would we?" She gave her paw a lick and looked up at her leader then back down at her paw. "Leaders lives are stressful. I wouldnt blame her for looking all stressed and run down."

Flutterpaw~
"Would you stop being so rude, Wildfire, and be kind for once?", Flutterpaw retorted, or atleast she thought it was a good retort. She got up and walked up to Lionstar. Flutterpaw licked her leader's ear and mewed, "What is the matter Lionstar?"

Ravenstrike
Ravenstrike walked over calmly quiet as could be. He felt deep down that this moment was one meant not a word to be spoken. He sat farthest from the leader watching her every reaction very very intently. As if he knew exactly what she was about to say. He could tell there something big about to go down. It was the calm before the storm most certainly.

Halfmoon padded into the clearing. He had just been resting his aching joints when he heard the commotion in the clearing. With a small huff, he heaved himself out of the den and towards the Cedar Branch. The first thing he looked for was Sorrelfeather. She wasn't there, so he assumed she must be sleeping in the nursery. He smiled; his kits would be coming any day now. With a contented sigh, he seated himself in the clearing. He decided to stay quiet, considering that the three she-cats here had already managed to start a fight over nothing.

Fogdancer tried to look depressed; she really did. It was pretty sad that Lionstar was going to give up her position. However, on the inside, Fogdancer was jumping for joy. This was her life-long dream! Every moon she'd watch as th other cats her age lost their ambitions to become leader, but she held on. And now look where it got her! She was going to be leader of ShadowClan, the greatest clan the lake had ever seen! With a fake frown and sag in her step, she hopped up onto the Cedar Branch next to Lionstar. Fogstar, she thought, the legendary leader of ShadowClan. Sounds good! She whispered to the golden she-cat next to her. I think we' better get this show on the road. Then she faced the clan. Cats of ShadowClan! Silence yourselves. Lionstar has an announcement to make.

Her clan was bickering at the last moments of her leadership. It angered her how excited ehr deputy was. Fogdancer wasn't very good at hiding her emotions. Though she may look depressed, she couldn't hide her happiness, obviously. Lionstar shrugged off the mental comments. It was her life-long dream too. She sighed and rolle dher shoulder sback. It was time for them to find out.
"Cats of ShadowClan, I am sorry to say that I will be giving up my position as leader. I am too young and have too little experience to be at this position in life. Fogdancer will be a good leader, I'm sure of it. I hope you all will respect my decision. We will leave tonight for the Moonpool. I will be giving up my nine lives and gain abck my old name: Lionstep. From now on, I am not your leader. Yuo take orders from Fogdancer now."
Lionstar nodded and, when she felt she couldn't tak eit any more, jumped down and ran into her den. She was so embarrassed. She would never be able to live this down.

From her place at the back of the small gathering of cats, Juniperfeather listened intently to her leader's message. She had crawled out of her dark cave for a moment, expecting this message to be a short, unimportant one, and intended to immediately retreat back to counting herbs. Becoming medicine cat had made her incredibly anti-social, her life had been taken over by herbs, injuries and pain, much like the clinging vines that had been made to lock her herb shelves together. However, at the sound of her dejected leaders voice giving up her position, Juniperfeather felt almost.. devastated. She had seen it in Lionstar-- Lionstep, she corrected herself, in Lionstep's eyes when she was dubbed leader of Shadowclan. She could see how important this role was for her. Bright green eyes intently followed her ex-leader into her cave. She could feel the waves of embarrassment rolling off her.
She had never felt pity more than she did now. She wanted nothing more than to bound into Lionstep's cave and plead with her to stay Lionstar. She knew somewhere deep down that this would never work. As well as sadness, she saw determination in her leader's eyes. Forgetting everything about her herbs and what she had counted, she slowly crept out of the mouth of her medicine cat's den, to hear more clearly what --Fogstar would say, now that she was a newly appointed leader.

Ravenstrike got off the ground real quick and was the first to say a protest. He was always one to speak his mind whenever his brother left. He seemed to have lost his quiet numbness. He seemed to have felt more equal then ever before. "What!? Your leaving? Your father wouldn't want you to do this! He fought to protect this clan from Roughstar!"
Ravenstrike suddenly felt a brush of his shoulder as one of his kin walked up behind him speaking out. "I'm sorry that your father gave you so much duty Lionstar. You weren't the best. Will you be staying in Shadowclan?" Ravenstrike felt his fur bristle at his brother, Frogcreep's words. He couldn't believe what was happening.. His mind flashed of Frogcreep taking over and allowing his brother to come back. Ravenstrike glared right at teh leader. He responded to Frogcreeep's words. "He lies. You met your duty with honor. Honor that Frogcreep's brother never had." He stood strong a few moments longer and stalked off out of the camp. He could feel his brother's gloat behind him. Ravenstrike hated his brothers, more then anything else in the world. His mind filled with sorrow at the lost of a great leader. [/blockquote] //Sorry, had to rpg Frogcreep.. I know he's up for adopt.. I could not at all help it. I really really wanted some muse for Ravenstrike and just found it! Yeah!//

Flutterpaw~
Flutterpaw stood up with a shocked expression. She quickly lept up and ran into Lionstar's den. No, Lionstep's old den. "Lionstar?", Flutterpaw mewed, "Why are you giving up your place?" Flutterpaw looked at her leader's green eyes. She saw the embarassment in them and touched noses with her leader. "You are a great leader. Don't let Fogcreep get to you. One cat comes along and eventually they become leader. They were destined for it! You, Lionstar, are that cat."
{ That was corny. }

Wildfire raised an eyebrow at the news she had just heard and mumbled, "Well, I was expecting more important news.. but okay then this will have to do." She glanced at Fogdancer and then looked away. Deep down wildfire didnt understand why her leader was doing this. It did feel wrong that Lionstar was stepping down.. but was it her place to intervene? no. This was Lionstars decision and whatever they did everyone had to follow it. She let out a sigh and rolled her eyes and really didnt want all this drama now but it happened.

Fogdancer stood proudly before ShadowClan. I would like to thank all of ShadowClan for supporting me all through my career as deputy. I hope to return what I owe during my leadership. Fogdancer smiled inwardly. Flutterpaw was right. Only cats who were truly destined for greatness would become true leaders. However, that cat was no longer Lionstar. Lionstep, she corrected herself. That cat wpould be Fogdancer, or soon to be known as Fogstar. However, Frogcreep's words were anything but true. Lionstar led her clan brilliantly while she was leader. Even after she denounces her own lives to StarClan and regains her warrior name, she will still be respected, Frogcreep. She glared down at the tom. Fogdancer had never liked him. Not only was he a brother to the traitorous Roughstar, but he had little respect for his clanmates. Ravenstrike, however, was quite the opposite. Though he too was related to the exiled leader, Ravenstrike was loyal and spirited. Fogdancer would love to make him deputy, but she wasn't sure whether he'd accept the position. Then her gaze flickered over to ShadowClan's medicine cat. Juniperfeather, we'd better get moving. I'd like to get back to camp in time to name ShadowClan's newest deputy. We'll need extra herbs as well, since I assume Lionstar will be coming with us. With that note, she sprang down from the branch and headed towards the Medicine Cat's den.
