appearance
[/blockquote]
Iris is a pretty, lilac colored she-cat. Her eyes are almond shaped, and slant upwards towards her ears slightly. Her face is triangular, with blue mackerel, tabby markings. Her muzzle is small, round, and a creamy white color. Her front legs share the same blue tabby stripes as her face, but her back legs and tail are more of a chocolate color. Her coat on her body is a marble of shades of chocolate's and lilac's. Her ears are a solid dark grey, and her nose, like her sister, Ghostfeather's, is pink. Iris's eyes are signature, and how she received her name from her mother. They are a light steely blue, that appear violet in the light of the rising or setting sun.
Iris has a thin and lanky build. Long limbs and a long tail. Her back legs are slightly longer then her front, giving her spine an attractive arch. Her narrow features, and sharp looks, make her more wild looking then her plush sister.
She is also covered in small thin scars. They cover her shoulders and flanks, from the countless times she has fought off cats, foxes, and even dogs.
personality
[/blockquote]
Iris is a very brash cat. She does not take to strangers, and is even cold with cats she knows well. She is sly and secretive, cross into her territory and you better watch your back. She will attack before you even knew she was there.
Matching her angular looks, Iris is aggressive and cruel. Though more lenient with kits straying across her path, then adult cats. If they sass her, Iris will let them know by tooth and claw, who is the dominant cat. She believes the earlier they learn, the better off they are.
She isn't really fond of anyone in particular. But unlike her sister, she isn't against settling down and having a family of her own one day, if she can find a Tom cat she can put up with for more then a few days.
history
[/blockquote]
Iris was born to two full blooded, WindClan warriors. Her parents, Sparrowfoot and Brackenclaw, were strong and loyal warriors. The leaf-bare Sparrowfoot was with kits, was one of the worst in many moons. After Brackenclaw's, unfortunate and untimely death, Sparrowfoot refused to remain in the nursery. She tended to her clans needs, hunting as much as she could.
One evening, as she was hunting on her own, the season's worst storm hit. The snow was blinding, unable to find her way back to camp, Sparrowfoot took refuge in an abandoned fox den. Just as her kits started to arrive.
She gave birth too two daughters. Ghostkit, and Iriskit
After the worst of the storm had passed, and her kits were strong enough to walk. Sparrowfoot left the fox den, the snow was so high, she had to lift her muzzle to the sky to push through. Her kits followed closely behind her, mewling their discomfort at the cold wet snow between their pads.
Ghostkit, being the smaller of the two, tired quickly, refusing to move until her mother carried her. Iriskit was bigger and stronger, and tried her hardest to keep up with her mother. The wet snow and ice built on the fur between her pads, making her paws sting and feel heavy to the poor kit. She was determined though to not cause her mother anymore trouble.
She was trailing further and further behind her mother, struggling to match her pace. A big black bird flew over her head, startling Iriskit. His harsh call seemed to laugh at her. In the few seconds she turned from her mother's swinging tail, Sparrowfoot had disappeared.
Frightened now, Iriskit hurried to catch her mother and her sister, following Sparrowfoot's paw prints she had left in the snow. When another set crossed their path. Iriskit stood at this crossroads for a long time. Her nose wasn't strong enough yet to differentiate between two cat's scent. They were both very similar, they both even had a sweet milky smell. Iriskit finally make a decision, and began to follow the pawprints leading north.
Iriskit's paws ached, her stomach felt like it was being pinched, and it growled constantly. It felt like she had been walking for days. She had left the wide open expanse of snow behind her, and trees had sprouted. She slid across the top of a cold slippery surface which looked like it was moving underneath her paws, and a small rushing sound met her ears. She had never seen water before, and had no idea she was crossing the border between WindClan and ThunderClan territory.
She remained close to this cold surface, still following the paw prints, taking her further and deeper into unknown places. Iriskit was exhausted, and her paws finally collapsed underneath her small frozen body. The sun had set, and what little warmth it gave her, quickly left. Iriskit could barely breathe, her chest heaved, her body shook from the cold. Her small breaths escaped her mouth in tiny puffs of white cloud.
Iriskit didn't know when she had fallen asleep, all she knew was she was suddenly walking on clouds. Bright specks of light twinkled at her. She was no longer cold. Her body wasn't shaking uncontrollably. Her stomach no longer felt empty.
"Hello?" she called into the peaceful stillness. The clouds suddenly shifted, and a wiry dusty brown she-cat appeared. Her fur glittering with stars. She drew closer to Iriskit who's violet eyes met her glowing yellow ones.
"You are much to early for this place little one. Hold on a little longer." She dipped her muzzle down and licked Iriskit's head, and Iriskit closed her eyes.
When Iriskit opened her eyes, the brown cat was gone, and all the stars. Her stomach was growling, and her body was stone cold. She began to mewl helplessly, hoping someone would hear. It took the kit a moment to realize a nose was rubbing against her, a warm one. She turned blindly to the source of heat, still crying.
"Hush now little one. You're alright," A warm female voice said. Her sweet scent surrounded Iriskit. This is the cat she had been following. A warm tongue began to lick her body vigorously. "You're as cold as death, hold on little one," she said and Iriskit's feet left the ground as the she-cat picked her up by the scruff and began to carry her away.
The next thing Iriskit could comprehend, was she was warm. The cold wind that was buffeting her thin kitten fur, was gone. She was curled deeply into a cats warm belly fur, and was drinking warm sweet milk. A rough tongue was licking her small body, cleaning her and warming her even more. When Iriskit had drank her fill she began to take in her surroundings. The she-cat beside her was large, her fur long and thick. Her paws were massive. But her eyes were soft, a warm sunny yellow, contrasting with her sharp silver tabby coloring.
"You're a strong one," she said, "Most kits wouldn't have made it..." a sadness darkened her sunny eyes. "What is your name?" she asked Iriskit softly, her eyes brightening again.
"I-I-Iriskit," she stammered
"Iriskit..." the large tabby's eyes softened and her long whiskers twitched "May I just call you Iris?" she asked
"Of-of course!"
The large silver cat smiled at her and flicked her tail, inviting Iris to lay beside her. Iris tucked herself into the crook of the she-cats front leg and close to her side, burying herself into her thick fur.
"My name is Gaea," she said curling her head around to be closer to Iris.
"May I just call you mom?" Iris asked. Gaea began to purr softly,
"Of course little one."
