Dapplekit ; Kit of RiverClan
Snapdragon ; Warrior of RiverClan
Spiderkit ; Kit of RiverClan
Silence. The rays of the first light were beginning to touch the earth. Everyone in the den seemed to be... asleep. Good. This would make things a tad easier. Slowly the kit got up, trying to be careful not to disturb her family. If they woke... any of them... she would miss her chance.
She got out of the den easily enough... A quick look back at the den told Dapplekit that her family still rested within. She had not been noticed. 'Just a short swim.' The she-cat moved for the river alone... but she was wrong if she truly though she had gone unseen.
---At The River---
Everything started out alright she supposed. The water was a bit cold but not exactly unpleasant. Dapplekit let a light smile come onto her maw. She'd show her family... she could do this!
Deeper, deeper... eventually she was swimming, or rather, attempting to,with slight difficulty. 'Oi... Come on Dapplekit!' She struck out a bit deeper...
But trouble found her. The current, far too strong for her strength, started to carry her downstream and drag her into the deeper part of the river...
"Gah!" She gave a few wild thrashes about, eyes squeezing closed. She really should have stayed in the den...
A sharp pain lit her body all of a sudden, and a scream came from her. Dapplekit had slammed right into a rock in the middle of the River at full force...
Her eyes were open again and wide with fear. All she could hear around her was the rushing of the water. 'Am... I going to die here?' The thought... she stopped moving... there was no reason to fight...
She went under, paw still stinging. At least the pain would be gone....
Dapplekit felt someone grab her scruff a moment later, pulling her up to the surface.
Coughing and spluttering, the kit was certain that as she was being pulled along by this other cat she heard her brother's voice...
At the shore was indeed one of her brothers. Spiderkit, twitching nervously and watching as the mainly gray warrior pulled his sister from the river. Once they got to the waters edge he moved over to the two she-cats, nuzzling his sister lightly.
"Dapplekit! Are you alright?" His voice was full of concern, and when his sister looked at him, pain in her eyes, he sighed. "You could havedied... Thank StarClan Snapdragon was coming back from patrol when she did."
The warrior she-cat gave a light nod. "It is no problem, Spiderkit. Come, lets get your sister checked out."
